Attorney Theodore R. Laputka, Jr. helps families through difficult times
Theodore R. Laputka joined McNelis Law in September 2006, bringing years of experience in domestic relations and family litigation to the firm. Attorney Laputka has been practicing law in the Hazleton area since 1972 and has represented thousands of clients.
He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College with the rank of second lieutenant in the United States Army, then served in Europe in military intelligence. After completing his active duty, Theodore joined the Pennsylvania National Guard, Company C, 876 Engineer Battalion in Hazleton. He retired from the military in 1987 with a rank of lieutenant colonel.
After graduating from law school, Theodore began working for the Small Business Administration, helping people whose businesses had been disrupted by flooding from Hurricane Agnes. He later joined the firm of Laputka, Bayless, Ecker and Cohn.
In 1989, he formed the firm of Laputka and Pedri. And in 2000, he formed his own firm, Theodore R. Laputka, Jr. and Associates.
During his career, Theodore Laputka has tried cases in area courts, as well as in the Federal District Court for both the Eastern District and the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He has also served as solicitor for several municipalities, and for the Hazleton Area School Authority, the Hazleton Parking Authority and Hazle Township.
